Dr. Morina Vongsa
PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
As a proud Des Moines native, I discovered my passion for physical therapy after witnessing the life-changing impact it had for my grandmother, who underwent extensive rehabilitation following a series of strokes. Inspired by the compassionate care that helped her regain mobility and independence, I courageously pursued PT as a second career with the goal of returning to serve my community.
Earning my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University, I gained diverse experience working as a traveling PT at underserved rural hospitals in Nebraska and Iowa. It was during my time in home health that I realized vestibular care and management of dizziness often go undertreated, sparking my interest in advanced training in these areas as well as orthopedic conditions.
Health, Happiness, and Humility
“Motion is lotion!”
At Mount Laurel Physical Therapy, my clinical interests include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular rehabilitation, balance and gait training, orthopedics, spine pathologies, and joint dysfunctions. My expertise in thorough examination allows me to develop individualized, evidence-based plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals. Utilizing skilled manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, and patient education, I partner with patients to maximize their function, safety, and independence while empowering them to live life with less pain.
Something patients have to deal with that I want to fix is the fear of pain and fear of movement. I enjoy helping patients find alternative pain-free ways to move.
Conditions I enjoy treating are shoulder impingement syndrome, rotator cuff, tendonitis, tendinopathy, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow; and knee pain: bursitis, quadriceps/patellar tendinopathy, osteoarthritis, meniscus injuries.
I like working here because it allows me to treat patients one-on-one and give patients my undivided attention.

Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Dark are my favorites!
When not in the clinic, I enjoy an active lifestyle through hiking, weightlifting, learning new recipes, and gardening. I also treasure quality time with my boyfriend, Brendan, and my faithful canine companion, Boromir.
