Dr. Katherine Greening

PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

I grew up in Des Moines, IA, with my three siblings and attended Dowling Catholic High School. My interest in physical therapy began in high school after experiencing a cross-country injury that led me to physical therapy as a patient. Around the same time, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through physical therapy herself. Seeing firsthand how physical therapy could restore movement and improve quality of life sparked my interest in the field. I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA, in 2024. I currently live in Clive and attend St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines.

During my clinical rotations, I was introduced to vestibular physical therapy and quickly saw how much this specialty is needed. That experience solidified my decision to pursue further education and training in the vestibular world.

At Mount Laurel Physical Therapy, my goal is to help empower my patients to take an active role in their care. I take the time to listen and understand their symptoms, how their experience is affecting their day-to-day life, and their goals of care. Through a thorough evaluation, I can identify certain areas manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, and other treatment forms can be used to make a meaningful difference and improve my patient’s quality of life. While I don’t have any specific specialties, I have attended various continuing education classes regarding balance and vestibular conditions.

Something my patients deal with is a fear of falling and an avoidance of activities they enjoy. I want to help patients gain independence and safety so they can get back to what they enjoy!

Some conditions I enjoy treating are vertigo, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), concussion, balance/gait dysfunction, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and hip/knee pain.

I love working at Mountain Laurel because of the people I work with and their support of my growth as a physical therapist!
